This is week three of being sick. I am so SICK of being SICK!!!! At least each phase is sick in a different way. This week it is my ear that feels raw on the inside. I slept with a hot water bottle on it and that helped. Today Jay went to the office alone and I am keeping my ear warm both externally and internally (hot water bottle and hot chocolate). Let this be a warning to all: Do NOT cough on anyone you love. Jay had the cold first and I was apprehensive and avoiding his germs as well as possible. One morning I caught the full brunt of his cough and I KNEW in my soul that I was now infected and would be getting sick. It was like a revelation feeling. And sick I got!!!
So, as I watched Spanish-dubbed Dog Whisperer this morning, I got to thinking about dogs and why some are more appealing than others. Each of us has a unidentified set of criteria that makes a dog appealing. For me, a dog has to have a snout. That is the very beginning. If it has a snout, then I can go from there to further categorize it. Now I am wondering, what is your primary rule that makes a dog physically appealing?

So sorry to hear you are still sick. :(
I look at the dogs eye/eyebrow structure. How expressive they are. I like a bit of a husky snout too, not so much the long skinny ones. I pay attention to their coat too. Will I have to brush it all the time? yuck. My dream dog is a Bichon Frise. Hmmm, a little yippy dog that needs grooming ALL the time. But they are sooooo cute. lol
I think i am not a dog person. I think some look cute and lovable and all. but I just see work. lots and lots of work.
I don't know how to pick dispostion at 6 weeks. but Louie is way more lovable to me than jynx. but i can' stand Louie's fur and I can't stank jynx's barking.
short fur/hair especially around the eyes. I like clean eyes, nose, mouth. I don't like a tail that is up showing me their holes. I like small to medium dogs, usually terriers, jack russels to yorkies to Cairn. I don't want to spend a lot to feed them and I don't want to have to walk for than a mile to exercise them. I like energetic dogs that will snuggle me. But I will not get one while I have babies at home
The most important thing to me when choosing a dog is to have one that loves me unconditionally. I couldn't care less if it's big, small, furry, hairless, loud, quiet, smart or dumb. All those things are only secondary. Having said that, my preference is a big, furry, quiet, smart dog whose poop doesn't stink as bad as a bassett hound.
